New Background to SimplyWarcraft

Updates completed today:
Had another small update to the site, now SimplyWarcraft has a stunning background. Additional to this I have updated the formatting of the "2010 Spider's Silk Farming Guide".

Planned update to content:
I have realised that this guide is now over 2 years old and so I am going out into the world of warcraft and farm some Spider's Silk now in 2012 and see whether the drop rate for this rarely found material has changed. I plan on farming the spiders in the following locations and will publish my findings.

• The Wetlands
• Stonetallon Mountains
• Darkshire

Update to Simplywarcraft: Text now readable

I have only just noticed that when viewing this site on Windows based machines the text was near unreadable. I develop using macs and so did not see the problem until now. This issue has now been resolved and you will be able to now real all the text on the site clearly.

I am surprised that no-one has contacted us regarding this issue.

Site Regeneration: Simple design for SimplyWarcraft

As you may have noticed SimplyWarcraft has undergone another facelift, this is simply because they dynamic design which we had made a couple weeks ago is not very easy to work with and the search engines do not like it one bit. So we have revered to a simpler new design which we have put together, and hopefully you will still be able to find exactly what you need.

Videos: Simply Fantastic

At the bottom right of all our pages is a quick section containing videos which will appear in a popup window near the top of the screen, we know this may not be an ideal placement, and we are working on improving the visibility and usability of this inspiring tool. Hopefully we will get to showing you some cool world of warcraft content videos. 

Stat Counter: Rising up the ranks

For the first time we have added a visitor counter to the bottom left of the site, we know that these are very old fashioned however we want you to know that you are not alone when viewing SimplyWarcraft.com over 70,000 people have visited the site in the past two years of us going live. Its quite an achievement for such a little site. A little site with a big heart! 

What we have recently done today:

Categorising the posts to be more accessible

We understand that there is a lot of different sections to the main navigation bar down the left and starting on the 23nd June 2012 we have gone through all our pages and placing them in simpler and more useful categories for you to find. This will make it easier for you to locate the information that you need.

Going through the posts for content consistency

We know that the site has been through three major design changes and many of our older posts are now looking a bit worse for wear. This means that we have been going through all 206 posts which we have made through the years and making them look in keeping with the rest of the site. Making sure that they are easy to read and easy to understand and find and that images and videos are not too large for the page itself. 

Update to site design

As you may have guessed if you have visited SimplyWarcraft before, we have updated our overall site theme to a more modern and dynamic design. You can still do everything that you did before and find the links in the same place. You can search through the individual posts using the pop out menu located near the top right.

We hope that you like the update and be sure to "Like" any content that you find useful!

Back from a break

Well as you should know by now I often take months away from playing World of Warcraft due to one reason or another, may it be financial or personal, does it really matter?
Well the point I am getting to is I'm back to playing World of Warcraft after approx. two months being away from the MMO.

As far as I can tell by looking at the latest patch notes nothing really new stands out and gameplay seems pretty much the same. I have picked up the game exactly from where I left off… that is farming spider’s silk, ores and doing random solo instances such as the undead side of Stratholme in Eastern Kingdoms to attempt the gain of the barrens mount – the name of which eludes me at this point in time.
There have been a lot of big PVP updates such as the inclusion of “rage of the firelands” or whatever its called, this doesn't interest me at all as I do not take part in any PVP on the game. I am a solo player, always have been, always will be.

Site Renovation

I have started re-designing SimplyWarcraft. It will be much easier to understand but still contain all information that is currently on the site with an easy to find navigation and search facility. I hope that the changes will be a great improvement to the site and fingers crossed for the future.

We will be adding a Link Exchange program allowing other people to advertise their website down the right side of the site and a donation page where generous visitors who have realised all the hard work gone into making the website can show their appreciation. All moneys raised will go back into SimplyWarcraft and help pay for server rental, domain fees etc etc.

As we know its not free to keep a busy website online.

No updates until the 25th March

Just leaving a note to say that I wont be updating SimplyWarcraft.com again until the 25th March. This is because I will be soon moving house and will not have Internet connection for a minimum of 10 days starting the 15th March.

Additional to this I have allowed my subscription time on world of Warcraft to expire until I have Internet again. I personally do not see any point in paying for something that I cannot use.

SimplyWarcraft: Reorganised

I am in the process of designing a very pretty new design for SimplyWarcraft. To help make the implementation easier I have labelled every post that has been made to the site which you can see down the right side of the site under Labels.
Preliminary design for www.simplywarcraft.com

The server migration has now completed so there should be no downtime for SimplyWarcraft.com.
This will hopefully help people find the information that they require since this version of the site does not have a search box. This will soon change.

SimplyWarcraft: Back to blog style.

As you may have noticed I did create a full website for SimplyWarcraft for about a week but I realised it would be more useful for people if I just kept it the same as a blog format as there is so much more information here for people to use. Enjoy.

Future Plans Anouncement

As you can see www.SimplyWarcraft.com is basically a blog site for which I found a Blogger compatible free CSS WOW themed template. In the near future I plan on improving the site by adding a wow item database so that visitors can find out how to get certain items and where to find them in the game. I also plan on re-designing the site with a brand new face-up design.
It should be fun but will take a few months to complete the transition.

Time to have a break

I just want to make a quick post. I am having a few weeks away from World of Warcraft and has let my play time expire. Due to these reasons I will not be updating my blog until I re-enable my account and begin to play World of Warcraft again. I hope you understand.

What happens next?

When I do re-enable my account I will be going through how to level up your herbalism and alchamy skills as my level 58 death knight night elf will be the next thing to level up on the game.

Possible: Blizzard Armory compromises account security?

I have been using Blizzards Armory application to manage my Auctions (which I paid £2.50 a month on top of Blizzards WOW subscription), and since using that, my WOW account got hacked... putting two and two together since that is the only other thing that I use that password for, maybe someone has figured out how to compromise the WOW Armory applications security and steal passwords? I know its not third party software, trojans or keyloggers as my machine is scanned daily. 

Anyways since downloading and installing the "Authenticator" on my iPad, my account had not been maliciously accessed by someone else. 

I dont want to pay £2.50 so that someone else can hack my account, so if I choose to re-enable my WOW account in the near future I wont be using that Blizzard Armory again.

Battle.net Breaks

Oh as an additional note before I sign off for a while while trying to access Battle.net and account management to check to see if I had been accepted for Cataclysm Beta, Battle.net decided to break. Somewhat wonderful... seems like the 11million people paying them £9.00 a month ( £99,000,000 a month) isnt enough to keep it running properly. Lol yeah thats sarchasm for you.

A few days of rest.

I know that I have not updated the website for a few days, I have not forgotten. I simply have not had time to play World of Warcraft due to personal issues for the past few days. Stay tuned and I will get back up and running ASAP.
