Mists of Pandaria BETA: Create a level 85 character from a template

I have not been on Mists of Pandara BETA for a couple of months now, after installing their latest patch update I have notice some very good improvements to the BETA experience.

Instead of selecting a pre-made character through Battle.net account you can now create a level 85 character of any Faction, Race and Class through the character interface, which says "Template Character" once you have logged into your BETA account.

This makes the experience much more enjoyable, the only thing missing in my mind is the choice of what professions your character should have pre-installed. I created a female Pandarian Monk (Level 85) however she was pre-installed with Jewelcrafting and Enchanting. Neither of which I have any interest in whatsoever. Its most likely that Blizzard are working on these two professions currently and therefore prefer the newly created level 85 characters to have these professions. Either way they can be changed at anytime you wish, however you will have to learn new professions from scratch.

Storm Peaks Rare: Skoll

After 4 years of looking for this rare spirit beast wolf I eventually gave up. However today while killing level 80 beasts for the Darkmoon Faire quest I spotted him wandering out the corner of my eye. I couldn't believe it.

So after trapping him in a ice trap and taming him with "Beast Mastery" talent enabled I finally caught this elusive rare and claimed him as my own.

Hunters Pet Highlight:

Unusual Hunter Pet Cat
While aimlessly wandering around the Dwarven District of Stormwind, I caught sight of a somewhat unusual hunter pet. It appears to be some kind of Technicolor cat.

Preparation – where are we going?

The owner of the pet informed me, very kindly, that it came from “Eversong Woods”, now I want to see if I can find this interesting looking feline, and tame it to call my own.
Eversong Woods is the north-most point of the main land of Eastern Kingdoms, located north of Ghostlands. (Please note I am not using any guides to locating this pet).

Finding a way to Eversong Woods.

If you don't have the flight path to Ghostlands then the best way I found to reach “Eversong Woods” is by flying up to Eastern Plaguelands, then going through the portal at the most north point of Eastern Plaguelands through to the Ghostlands.

If you do have the flight path to Ghostlands then fly there from your nearest flight master.
One you are in Ghostlands continue north, you need to run straight through Ghostlands (you cannot fly) then running through to the next zone to the north –“Eversong Woods”.

Where to find this beast?

After 30 minutes or so of looking for a animal that I didn't even know the name of I came across an area with the kitty which I was looking for. They are known as the “Springpaw Stalker”.
Below is a map which I have taken from my screenshots showing the location clearly of where I found the “Springpaw Stalker”.
Springpaw Stalker Location Map

The beast has been tamed

I selected a “Springpaw Stalker” to tame, they are only level 6-7 and so are very easy to trap and tame, therefore call your very own.
Springpaw Stalker Hunter Pet
I hope that you have enjoyed this guide to finding this unusual pet. I believe that it is unusual for any Alliance Hunter to own this pet as it is only obtainable in a dense Hoard area, and cannot be found in any alliance areas of the game.

After 3 years of searching Loque'nahak has been caught!

Ever since I started playing 5 years ago I wanted a “Loque’nahak” the rare spirit cat from “Sholazar Basin” in “Northrend” for my own. I started the hunt 3 years ago and regularly went out of my way to attempt the capture of this rare spirit beast.
However today, the first day I have played in 2 months I accidently found her while mining out in Sholazar. A very nice and unexpected surprise!
Loque'nahak Trapped
My character placing the rare “Loque'nahak” in a freezing trap to contain her before attempting the tame… then finding out you need “Beast Mastery Specialization” which I have as a secondary talent – thankfully!

Above map shows where in “Sholazar Basin” I located “Loque'nahak” the rare spirit beast of Northrend.

Druid Staff

I personally only have a Night Elf Hunter character and while in Stormwind I noticed another player shape shifted into a fiery lion. Even after several years of playing the game I have never come across this before. So after research I discovered that this player must have been successful in obtaining the “Druid Staff” from the PvP arenas to be able to do this.
Master Shapeshifter
I really love the look and general appeal of the Fire cat Druid Staff and from what I have witnessed while playing World of Warcraft – very few players seem to get this rare epic item.

New skin/design for the Frostsaber Stalker (Ice Cat)

We have seen designs of the lovely (Ice Stalker / Ice Cat) on many websites and those designs were never used…. until NOW! Included in the 26th April 2011 4.0.1 patch came new daily “WinterSaber Trainer” quests allowing you to care for your own frostsaber cub which when cared for in 20 days will become your very own “Frostsaber Mount”. A lovely touch to the game if you ask me… oh you didnt… never mind here’s the video I made.

The Fighting Spirit Quest Bug for hunters.

While out in Twilight highlands doing “The fighting spirit” quest. I defeated the “Mullan Gryphon Rider” no less than 4 times without receiving credit for it.

To start the quest the location of the “Mullan Gryphon Rider” which you are to defeat is behind the quest giver… I found it a little confusing as the ones fighting in the area are “friendlies”.
It appears to be a bug only for the “Hunter” class.

The way to solve this is to get the “Mullan Gryphon Rider” health down to about 30% and then dismiss your pet and finish him off yourself.
I hope this helps.

Visual Earthquakes in Stormwind

As you know with patch 4.0.1 there are earthquakes in the game, these I believe are pre-cataclysm events which could result in “Nature taking over” and causing all kinds of design changes to the World of Warcraft when “Cataclysm” is released in December.
I know that sometimes the earthquakes do not spawn in the correct places and can sometimes be found hovering above buildings in Stormwind I have yet to get a screenshot of this happening but I will soon!

Rare Timber - Captured

Today Latura has gained a new pet. He is known as "Timber" a rare wolf found sometimes on "Iceflow Lake". Latura managed to tame this low level rare beasty at 34.07, 41.35 co-ordinates. This rare beastie is approx level 10 and originates in the startup areas of the Gnomes. He spawns approximatly every 20 minutes and is protected by two "Starving Winter Wolf".
